James Paul Lake Death and Obituary: 53-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies After Losing Control on Curve in Fatal Crash—Barnesville, Pennsylvania
James Paul Lake, 53, of Barnesville, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.
According to Pennsylvania State Police in Frackville, the crash happened at approximately 4:26 p.m. along Mountain Road near the intersection of Tumbling Run Road.
Investigators reported that Lake was operating a 2023 Triumph Tiger motorcycle when he approached a curve where the roadway bends left. While navigating the curve, he lost control of the motorcycle.
Authorities said the bike overturned and traveled across the roadway before coming to rest along the right shoulder.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene following reports of a serious crash. Lake, who was wearing a helmet at the time, sustained significant injuries and was transported by Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill for emergency treatment.
Despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Officials confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. At this time, investigators have not determined what caused Lake to lose control. Factors such as speed, road conditions, mechanical issues, or possible medical concerns have not yet been ruled out.
The crash remains under active investigation as authorities continue to gather evidence.
